As the central elements of the electric motor, the rotor shaft and the complete rotor assembly are capable of high speeds and huge torques that the motor transmits on to the downstream elements. 

For this reason the components need to fit together precisely with very tight tolerances, so it becomes very important to inspect each one for highest quality.
